GloPost Welcome Event

It is a pleasure to invite you to our first event of the year happening next Friday the 10th of October from 15 – 17 at the Boiler House in the Botanical Gardens. We are so excited to be reuniting with our community and welcoming its new members on this occasion!
We will begin the Welcome Event by screening two never before shown films in Scotland – Oleksiy Radynskyi’s Where Russia Ends – dealing with issues of Russian extractivism and colonialism of indigenous territories through a remix of archival footage, and Sonya Imin’s I’m Here/مەن بار, which documents the creation of the first Uyghur film outside of East Turkistan amidst the displacement, exile and genocide of the Uyghur people. From there, we will say a few words about the centre and transition to an informal discussion with refreshments on the Centre’s envisioned program for the year. It would be great to hear from you all about your research interests and projects to see how we could collaborate in the future.
